A Passion for gin
We are a small family-run business in Veneto, Italy, rooted in a passion for craft gin and a deep love for nature. Our home in the Valle dell’Acqua inspires every bottle, with its woods, water ponds, and amphibian inhabitants.
Crafted with Phoenician juniper berries and local botanicals, our gin honours nature’s richness and the joyful songs of amphibians, guardians of hidden paths and ancient trees.
Each label features a unique amphibian—led by the frog, a timeless symbol of fertility and abundance, just like the ancient Alma Mater (“the mother who nourishes”).
Amphibian-friendly at heart, Gin Alma Chiara wishes to raise awareness of these threatened creatures, with over 40% of species at risk of extinction worldwide.
The Enrico Romanazzi trail
The Valle dell’Acqua is located on the Montello hill—the heart of one of Italy’s most important herpetological areas. This land, rich in biodiversity and dotted with natural and artificial pools, has been recognized as an Area of National Herpetological Importance (AREN) thanks to the lifelong work of Enrico Romanazzi. A passionate local naturalist, Romanazzi dedicated himself to the protection of amphibians, restoring wetlands and founding the SOS Anfibi association to raise public awareness. The biodiversity itinerary named in his honor—the Enrico Romanazzi trail now winds through the valley we call home, inspiring our gin and our mission.
